The setting is the room where Dorian hung the picture.

It reminds him of Lord Henry and he doesn't want to see himself anymore.

That there is no way for him to reform himself and that he only has one choice left, and that is to end his life.

Chapter 19

He wants to turn his life around and he takes steps to become a more virtuous person.
